We all love the beauty and seclusion that living in our area provides.  But there are sacrifices we make to live here:  long commutes, bumpy dirt roads and slow-slow-slow dial-up Internet service.  I can't fix the roads, but I can substantially improve Internet access.

My name is Ryan Miller.  I'm a computer engineer and I've worked on specialized electronics that have flown on the Space Shuttle, the International Space Station and several space satellites including the Cassini spacecraft currently orbiting Saturn and the recently launched Mars Science Laboratory rover which landed on Mars in August 2012.  I need fast Internet access!  And I know lots of you do, too.

My company, Hidden Lake Wireless, has set up a high-speed wireless Internet service in our area.  I'm now signing up interested local residents for high-speed Internet access.  This map shows the approximate range of service, although some sites may be able to receive the signal much farther away.  Each site will be tested for signal strength prior to sign-up.

To enable the service to work, each subscriber will have a transceiver unit installed on the outside of their home (much like a skinny TV antenna).  These units connect to your computer and communicate wirelessly with the base station antenna providing a low-latency, high-speed connection to the Internet.  This connection is always on so there's nothing you need to do get on the net - just turn on your computer.  And it won't tie up your phone line!  It's compatible with all computer types as well as the new game consoles - anything with a network interface (this interface can be easily added to any computer that doesn't already have it).  With the addition of an inexpensive router, you can connect multiple computers to the Net and even have your own wireless network for your laptop or PDA.
